We are so grateful for the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers from Emmanuel College for packing nearly 750 bags of food to support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Together, with incredible support from staff — including Catholic Charities Boston Trustee Sr. Eileen Burns — these volunteers made it possible for us to serve more than 300 clients in just two hours of service.

Members from our Catholic Charities Boston Teen Center participated in Love Your Block Day this year, a citywide initiative that invites local residents to host or join neighborhood cleanups and beautification projects across Boston. As the City of Boston celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary, we are so proud of our Teen Center members for continuing the legacy of community-led service.

Catholic Charities Boston extends its deepest gratitude to all those volunteers from Liberty Mutual Insurance who gave their time during this year’s Serve With Liberty initiative. Over the past few weeks, Serve With Liberty volunteers made a tremendous impact.
They packaged hundreds of food bags at agency food pantries, helping to provide timely access to food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. They spent time with students in our Lynn English for Speakers of Other Languages program, supporting them as they read and assisting them with new vocabulary. They also spruced up the exterior of the St. Ambrose Family Shelter, making it an even more welcoming environment for the residents.
The volunteers’ extra help and talents were greatly appreciated. Liberty Mutual’s commitment to giving back reflects the values of community and compassion that are so essential to Catholic Charities Boston. We are truly grateful for this partnership.
