Empowering Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Relative Caregivers

The Commission on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren offers vital support and resources to Massachusetts grandparents who are primary caregivers for their grandchildren. Through advocacy and community outreach, we’re here to UNITE, EMPOWER, and SUPPORT you on your caregiving journey. Established in 2008 by Governor Deval Patrick, the Commission provides resources in legal guidance, emotional support, and community connection.

Come spend the day in nature as we walk the beautiful trails of Blue Hills Reservation together. Join our friends The Sun Will Rise Foundation, Inc., where the pace will be relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of room to walk beside others, chat, reflect, or simply move quietly through the woods at your own rhythm.

As you make your way toward the top of the hill, you will pause at three meaningful spots for the Calling of Their Names ritual, a tender moment to speak the names of the people we carry with us and honor their presence together.

Many find this day grounding and healing, a chance to breathe, move, and feel supported by others who understand.
