🚧 Traffic Advisory: Overnight Ramp Closures on I-95 (Route 128) in Woburn

MassDOT's overnight ramp closures at Exit 54 (Washington Street) on I-95 (Route 128) began yesterday, Sunday, October 18, and will continue nightly through Friday, October 23, between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

The closures will alternate between the northbound and southbound exit ramps, with only one ramp closed at a time. Detours will be in place while crews perform pavement improvement work.

Drivers traveling through the area should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution. All work is weather dependent.

For real-time traffic updates and detour information, visit www.mass511.com or dial 511.

It was a pleasure to join the Coalition for Homeless Individuals at their annual leadership conference in Worcester earlier this week.

The coalition represents more than 70 community providers across Massachusetts, who work every day to keep homeless individuals safely sheltered, connect them with essential services, and help them get back on their feet.

This work is not easy, and there is still much to be done to combat homelessness here in the Commonwealth. Through continued investments in shelter services, supportive housing, and programs that help individuals transition into stable housing, it's vital we work together to ensure Massachusetts residents have a safe place to call home.

Thank you to Kate Chang and all the organizers who made this event possible. I look forward to continuing to work with the coalition, so our residents have the resources they need during trying times.

Great news for Woburn!

Congratulations to Foundation Alloy Technology Explorations on receiving a $255,000 state tax credit to support its expansion, including $1.6 million in planned private investment and the creation of 18 new full-time jobs.

It's encouraging to see innovative companies choosing Woburn as a place to grow, invest, and create jobs. Investments like these strengthen our local economy, create opportunities for residents, and reflect the continued growth of our business community.

Congratulations to the Foundation Alloy team, and thank you to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development for supporting this investment!

An exciting milestone for the future of Reading’s Center for Active Living!

It was great to join town leaders, members of the Reading delegation, project partners, and community members today for the ReCAL Topping Off Ceremony as construction continues to move forward.

Once complete, ReCAL will give Reading seniors and families more room to connect, participate in programs, access services, and stay active. The new center will expand programming and community meals, offer evening and weekend access, provide additional space for support services, and create new opportunities for recreation and intergenerational activities.

ReCAL will also provide dedicated space for veterans services and a permanent home for Recreation Division programming, helping bring even more resources and opportunities together under one roof.

Thank you to the Town of Reading, the Permanent Building Committee, Council on Aging, Recreation Committee, and all of the project partners who have helped bring this important community project to this point.

A wonderful morning in Woburn this past Sunday supporting the 29th annual Step Out for Hospice Walk/Run at the Irish American Club, with Haley and Harper joining me for the morning.

This annual event raises critical support for compassionate hospice and palliative care for patients and families, while bringing together residents, local organizations, and businesses from across the community.

Thank you to the Woburn Friends of VNA Hospice & Palliative Care, the Irish American Club of Woburn, Shamrock Running Club, and everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.

A weekend of good conversations and community connection in Reading and Woburn.

It was wonderful to spend time with friends and neighbors at the Reading Democratic Town Committee’s Dinner with the Dems and the Woburn Democratic City Committee’s Fall Meeting.

Thank you to both committees for bringing people together, creating space for thoughtful discussion, and continuing to keep residents engaged in our communities.

Always grateful for the opportunity to listen, connect, and spend time with the people we serve.

Northeast Metro Tech is beginning an exciting new chapter in a school built to serve students, teachers, and families for generations to come.

With modern classrooms, shops, technology, and hands-on learning spaces, this new facility is a major investment in vocational and technical education across the region.

Thank you to the MSBA, our local and state partners, community advocates, faculty, and families whose hard work and support helped make this possible.
