Thank you to the Community Music Center of Boston for inviting me to serve on the panel for the June 4 Community Conversation. It was an honor to join such a thoughtful discussion and engage with fellow panelists and community members on issues that matter to our neighborhoods and future. I appreciate the opportunity to share perspectives, learn from others, and contribute to a meaningful dialogue that strengthens our community.

Roxbury has produced countless African American success stories, and last week I was honored to celebrate one of them. My office partnered with the City on the unveiling of “Tony Rose Square,” a legacy street sign honoring the Roxbury native, NAACP Image Award-winning publisher, and pioneering music executive whose vision helped shape Boston’s Black music scene and elevate legendary acts including New Edition, New Kids on the Block, The Jonzun Crew, and Prince Charles and the City Beat Band. Tony Rose’s impact extended far beyond music through his work uplifting Black voices, culture, and entrepreneurship. Proud to help preserve and share his remarkable legacy.
