The MBLC strives to provide the Commonwealth with full & equal access to library resources. It is governed by nine Commissioners appointed by the governor.

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) is the agency of state government with the statutory authority and responsibility to organize, develop, coordinate, and improve library services throughout the Commonwealth. The MBLC strives to provide every resident of the Commonwealth with full and equal access to library information resources regardless of geographic location, social or economic status, age, level of physical or intellectual ability, or cultural background.

MBLC staff joined Boston Bruins' family members at Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts today to make clothes packages for babies, kids, and teens in need. Cradles to Crayons reports that 1 in 3 young people in the Commonwealth are clothing insecure. The Boston Bruins PJ drive helps! Libraries make up 58 of the 90 participating organizations this year.
