BPD in the Community: 📖🗣️🚔
As part of celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May, officers visited the Shaw-Taylor Elementary School in Dorchester for our ongoing reading series.
The visit featured a reading of “I Want to Be Spaghetti,” a story focused on self-love, confidence, and acceptance. After story time, officers spent time with students answering questions about their backgrounds, experiences growing up, and what inspired them to become Boston Police officers.
Thank you to the Mayor’s Office of Early Education and the Lingzi Foundation for their continued partnership in helping bring this reading series to schools throughout Boston!
