嚴厲譴責中國跨國鎮壓，呼籲民主夥伴共同 #抵制威權暴力！

針對中國人士涉嫌因不滿我國藝文工作者 黃逸豪的喜劇本位主義 演出時批評中共政權，出資指使在台人士跟監並策劃傷害，外交部嚴厲譴責中國此等跨國鎮壓手段，企圖透過暴力威脅侵害我國人民人身安全及言論自由！

言論自由是民主社會不可侵犯的基石，任何人都不該因發表評論而遭受暴力報復。民主台灣絕不容許境外勢力以暴力與恐懼侵害人民的人身安全，迫使人民噤聲。

外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan） 重申，台灣人民如何表達意見、如何選擇自己的未來，都不容外來威脅與脅迫介入，這也是民主台灣與獨裁中國的最大差異。我國政府也將堅定捍衛國家主權、民主法治及人民安全，依法追究相關責任。

外交部呼籲呼籲國際社會共同正視中國跨國鎮壓的威脅，拒絕威權政體利用民主社會的開放與自由，從事恐嚇、滲透及暴力迫害。民主國家唯有團結合作，才能有效遏止威權暴力，守護人民免於恐懼的自由。

We condemn China's transnational repression & call on democratic partners to resist authoritarian violence!

MOFA condemns the orchestration of surveillance and violence against Taiwanese comedian Huang Yi-hao by Chinese nationals in Taiwan, reputedly due to their dissatisfaction with his criticism of the Chinese Communist Party regime. These acts of transnational repression threaten Taiwanese people's right to freedom of speech and their personal safety.

Freedom of speech is the foundation of all democratic societies, and no one should suffer violent reprisals for expressing their views. Democratic Taiwan will not stand for harassment or intimidation being leveraged against our citizens by external forces to silence them.

Taiwan reiterates that, however the Taiwanese people wish to express their opinions or decide their own future, they should not be cowed or harassed by external forces; this is the biggest difference between democratic Taiwan and authoritarian China. The government of Taiwan will continue to defend our sovereignty, democratic institutions, rule of law, and the personal safety of our citizens, and will not hesitate to prosecute anyone who violates these.

MOFA calls on the international community to be clear-eyed in recognizing the threat of China's transnational repression, and refuse to allow authoritarian regimes to take advantage of the open and free nature of democratic societies to engage in intimidation, infiltration, and violent coercion. Democracies can only prevail in curbing authoritarian violence and preventing the freedom of their citizens from being curtailed amid terror through solidarity.

提醒所有國人朋友，提前做好防颱準備，颱風期間避免前往海邊觀浪、垂釣，以及從事登山、溯溪等危險活動，隨時留意最新氣象與防災資訊。 外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC（Taiwan） 領事事務局與中部、南部、東部、雲嘉南辦事處也將在明天10月22日啟動應變機制， #提前開放領取護照 並 #延長服務時間晚上6點。

最近 #歐洲議會 通過「歐中政治關係建議」報告案，內容除了肯定台歐盟緊密的夥伴關係，也反對中國以脅迫方式限縮台灣國際參與空間，報告書重點包含：

■ 台灣在半導體產業及全球供應鏈扮演關鍵角色，是歐盟重要的貿易夥伴及高科技創新樞紐。

■ 建議歐盟深化與台灣在半導體及網路安全等領域的合作，並呼籲立即啟動 #台歐盟雙邊投資協定 或關鍵供應鏈備忘錄的談判準備工作。

■ 重申歐盟從未認可中國的「一個中國原則」，反對以武力或脅迫片面改變台海現狀，並反對中國扭曲 #聯大第2758號決議。

■ 點名中國施壓歐方，阻撓蕭美琴副總統出席本年9月在義大利文托泰內舉辦的「歐洲自由與民主論壇」，並強烈反對中國的跨國鎮壓及法律於境外適用。

The European Parliament has adopted a recommendation on EU-China political relations, which lauds Taiwan-Europe cooperative ties and opposes China's attempts to restrict Taiwan's international participation through force and coercion.

The report:
■ States that EU cooperation with Taiwan is crucial for global prosperity due to Taiwan’s vital role in the semiconductor industry and global supply chains, its position as a significant trading partner for the EU, and its status as a hub for innovation in high-tech sectors;

■ Highlights the importance of deepening economic and technological cooperation with Taiwan in fields such as semiconductors and cybersecurity, and of launching, without delay, preparatory measures for negotiations on a bilateral investment agreement, or other kinds of agreement, such as a memorandum of understanding on critical supply chains, with Taiwan.

■ Reiterates that the EU has never endorsed the One China Principle and opposes any provocation or unilateral attempt to violate the status quo by force or coercion, as well as the distortion of UN Resolution 2758 by China to support its claims over Taiwan’s territory and sovereignty.

■ Rejects China’s attempts to coerce international organizations, third countries, and other actors into restricting Taiwan’s international participation and contacts, as recently demonstrated by the pressure exerted by Beijing over the participation of Taiwan’s Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim in the Ventotene European Conference for Freedom and Democracy organized by the European Parliament.

MOFA thanks the European Parliament for its long-standing support for Taiwan, its concern for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and Taiwan's international participation. Taiwan will continue to work with our European friends to strengthen cooperation and defend the peace, security, and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region and the wider world.

The President Lai Ching-te delivered his National Day address on October 10, themed "Taiwan—The City on a Hill, The Salt of the Earth, Light of the World." He emphasized that, despite undergoing a democratic transition and facing challenges in the international landscape, Taiwan has consistently demonstrated resilience and confidence. This year marks the 30th anniversary of direct presidential elections in Taiwan; through their votes, the Taiwanese people have proven that the people are the masters of the nation and that Taiwan's future is to be decided by the Taiwanese people themselves! ✨

The President noted that Taiwan has stood firm amidst a changing global landscape, delivering impressive economic performance and steadily enhancing its international competitiveness, while also making significant strides in diplomacy. These achievements belong to the people of Taiwan and demonstrate the power of democracy, freedom, and economic development reinforcing one another.

第81屆聯合國大會日前順利落幕，我國友邦帛琉🇵🇼、馬紹爾群島🇲🇭、吐瓦魯🇹🇻、史瓦帝尼王國🇸🇿、貝里斯🇧🇿、聖文森及格瑞那丁🇻🇨、聖克里斯多福及尼維斯🇰🇳、聖露西亞🇱🇨、巴拉圭🇵🇾及瓜地馬拉🇬🇹 政府高層接連透過執言與致函，力挺台灣參與聯合國體系！

除了捷克總統帕維爾今年第三度在聯大總辯論挺台發言外，美日韓等多國的外長與高階代表也在聯大期間透過聯合聲明，強調維護台海和平穩定的重要性。

美國聯邦眾議院及15個州議會🇺🇸、捷克參議院🇨🇿、波蘭國會🇵🇱、義大利國會🇮🇹、巴西國會🇧🇷、哥倫比亞國會🇨🇴及歐洲議會🇪🇺 也分別通過友台議案或報告、發表聯合聲明及致函，強力支持將台灣納入聯合國體系等多邊組織及機制。

今年適逢 #聯大第2758號決議 55 週年，外交部再次重申該決議全文並未提及台灣，也並未確認台灣是中國的一部分，更未授權中國在聯合國體系代表台灣，即不能作為排除台灣參與聯合國體系等多邊國際機制的依據。中國扭曲該決議的目的是為其未來武力犯台創造法理基礎，此已嚴重違反「 #聯合國憲章」所明訂的核心原則。

我國嚴正呼籲國際社會共同反制中方惡劣意圖，並要求聯合國停止屈服於中國壓力，接納台灣參與，以達成聯合國「不遺漏任何人」的宗旨，並落實「普惠全人類聯合國」目標。

The 81st session of the UN General Assembly has successfully concluded. High-ranking officials from our diplomatic allies—Palau 🇵🇼, the Marshall Islands 🇲🇭, Tuvalu 🇹🇻, Eswatini 🇸🇿, Belize 🇧🇿, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 🇻🇨, Saint Kitts and Nevis 🇰🇳, Saint Lucia 🇱🇨, Paraguay 🇵🇾, and Guatemala 🇬🇹—all voiced their strong support for Taiwan’s participation in the UN system through both spoken statements and official letters.

In addition to Czech President Pavel speaking in support of Taiwan during the General Debate for the third time this year, foreign ministers and senior representatives from the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and other nations issued joint statements during the session, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Legislative bodies—including the U.S. House of Representatives and 15 U.S. state legislatures 🇺🇸, the Czech Senate 🇨🇿, the parliaments of Poland 🇵🇱, Italy 🇮🇹, Brazil 🇧🇷, and Colombia 🇨🇴, as well as the European Parliament 🇪🇺—also demonstrated their support by passing pro-Taiwan resolutions or reports, issuing joint statements, and sending official letters.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of UNGA Resolution 2758. MOFA reiterates that the resolution makes no mention of Taiwan, does not affirm that Taiwan is part of China, and does not authorize China to represent Taiwan within the UN system; therefore, it cannot serve as a basis for excluding Taiwan from the UN system and other multilateral international mechanisms. China’s distortion of the resolution aims to establish a legal pretext for a future armed invasion of Taiwan—an act that gravely violates the core principles enshrined in the UN Charter.

We solemnly call upon the international community to jointly counter China’s malicious intentions and urge the United Nations to stop yielding to Chinese pressure. The UN should instead accept Taiwan’s participation to realize its principle of "leaving no one behind" and achieve the goal of a United Nations that truly benefits all of humanity.

10月5日晚，近400位新英格蘭政要、領事團成員、僑胞、學界友人及留學生齊聚波士頓洲際酒店（ InterContinental Boston ），新英格蘭五州州長也透過賀函與賀狀祝賀國慶，共同為中華民國（台灣）獻上生日祝福👏👏。

今年適逢美國獨立250週年、台灣總統直選30週年，以及台北市與波士頓市締結姐妹市30週年✨。黃耀良代理處長致詞表示，台美同樣珍視自由、民主與人民自主決定未來的權利，並將在堅若磐石的友誼基礎上，持續深化合作，共創和平與繁榮。

麻州參議會代議長William Brownsberger及新罕布夏州眾議會代議長Jim Kofalt亦到場致賀，肯定台灣移民的貢獻及台灣對全球和平穩定的重要角色🤝。

Celebrating the 115th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Boston!

On October 5, nearly 400 New England officials, consular representatives, Taiwanese community members, academic friends, and students gathered at InterContinental Boston. This year marks the 250th anniversary of American independence, 30 years of ’s direct presidential elections, and the 30th anniversary of the Taipei–Boston sister city partnership. Acting Director-General Michael Huang emphasized that Taiwan and the United States share a commitment to freedom, democracy, and the right of people to determine their own future. Building on our rock-solid friendship, we will continue to deepen cooperation and advance peace and prosperity.

Massachusetts Senate President Pro Tempore Will Brownsberger and New Hampshire House Speaker Pro Tempore State Representative Jim Kofalt also joined the celebration, recognizing the contributions of Taiwanese immigrants and Taiwan’s vital role in global peace and stability.

The reception featured a screening of the National Day film The Nation’s Photo Album, a solemn presentation of the colors, moving renditions of the national anthems, and a fun, educational quiz at the “America 250, Taiwan 30” exhibit. A string quartet from the New England Conservatory and the Boston You and Me band performed Taiwanese songs celebrating our homeland alongside American songs honoring freedom, democracy, and hope—expressing our love of home and the deep friendship between Taiwan and the United States.
