On Friday, Representatives McMurtry, Sangiolo, Senator Feeney and I visited a community-based non-profit organization in Dedham, Riverside Community Care, which offers a wide range of mental healthcare, developmental and brain injury services, early childhood and youth programs, addiction treatment, su***de education, trauma response, and more. Great morning on Beacon Hill! Proud to join Representative MacGregor and Representative Consalvo in hosting West Roxbury’s Holy Name School’s 6th graders to the State house to learn about History, Government and the Legislative Process! Absolutely outstanding students, we had a great time! 🇺🇸
Last week during Senate budget debate, I spoke on an amendment I filed to expend $2 million to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to create a grant program to help educate young people on healthy social media habits. I am grateful to my colleagues, who passed this amendment unanimously and to Senate President Spilka for her leadership on issues like this this session.

This critical investment can strengthen our ability to provide technical assistance, individualized financial coaching, business education workshops, and financial assistance to local entrepreneurs.

Today I was honored to take the oath of office as a Trustee of Boston Public Library of the City of Boston for the second time alongside fellow Trustees: Jose C. Masso III and Alex Leventhal. Also in attendance was the City of Boston’s Chief of Human Services, Jose F. Masso. Libraries are the Best! A great morning!
