City of Boston
In Remembrance
This mission was special. The Boston Sparks A-10 Team was honored to provide logistics and support to the grieving members of Local 718 and the Boston Fire Department for the services to honor their brother and our friend FF Robert “BK” Kilduff, Jr. who was tragically lost in the line of duty serving the city he loved. From the on-scene support at the fire, to the dignified transfer, to the days lining up to the wake and funeral services we wanted to be there to provide comfort and support to honor BK, his family and the Boston Fire Department family.
It takes a team to stand up and be strong for others during this difficult time and we want to thank our partners who stepped up to provide assistance to us, from the mutual aid rehab team from Rehab 5 and Mansfield EMA, who covered our response area to allow us to concentrate on the memorial services, the great teams from Providence Canteen, The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Mary Lou’s Coffee, Dunkin Donuts and Big Fish Marketing Collaborative who provided boots on the ground for the bus staging area, to the teams at McDonalds and Market Basket who prepared breakfast sandwiches and pastries, to the folks at BJ’s Wholesale, Costco, Polar Beverage and Stop and Shop who supplied us with pallets of water, the contributions were innumerable and so appreciated.
The Boston Sparks A-10 team was called upon over the past four weeks to provide our services to five wake and funeral memorials, MSP Trooper Kevin Trainor, Quincy FF Neil Leonard, Braintree Lt. Paul Smyth, BEMS Superintendent in Chief John Gill, and Boston FF Robert “BK” Kilduff, Jr.. The amount of funerals in this short period of time was unprecedented for us, the solemness overwhelming, but the work had to be done and the team stood up and performed our duties flawlessly to provide some comfort for the department members and the families of these great men who serviced public safety with distinction and dedication.
The team of A-10 volunteers is second to none and we will always “Serve those who serve us”.
