May is Older Americans Month, a time to recognize the contributions of older Americans and highlight aging trends. This year, the theme is “Champion Your Health”, focusing on empowering older adults to take an active role in managing their own health, accessing preventive care, and making informed decisions that support independence. At FriendshipWorks we believe that connection is vital to healthy aging and that’s why our programs are designed to help older adults remain socially connected.
Thanks to Tracy Campbell at the Robert A. Georgine Building in Charlestown, we were able to invite the residents to get creative and show us what they are doing to champion their own health.

In Episode 59 of the Brookline Community Aging Network podcast, our Executive Director, Kyle Robidoux, discusses FriendshipWorks’ mission to reduce social isolation and loneliness, the programs available to the residents of Brookline, and the powerful role volunteers play in creating lasting connections and promote healthy aging.
Thank you to the Brookline Community Aging Network for featuring and helping spread the word about the importance of connection.
