Join us on Saturday, February 10th and Sunday, February 11th at 11 AM for the launch of the Art Immersion exhibit, ReRooted: What's Hair Got To Do With It?
The exhibit is an intriguing and immersive experience of Black hair culture, part of the Museum's Black History Month celebration. The exhibit takes a fascinating look at the beautiful uniqueness of Black hair through the lens of science, history, and culture, presenting an opportunity to learn, converse, and connect about how hair shapes a community. On exhibit February 10 through March 2024.
The exhibit is curated by Michele Avery and Yvette Modestin, founders of ReRooted Productions, in collaboration with the Museum of Science and Northern Light.
Our Crown Storytellers are Senator Liz Miranda, Sonja Atyia Martin, Dr. Afiya Mbilishaka , Darian Leta, Dr. Njoke Thomas, Banjineh "Optimus" Browne, Sarita Thomas and Carmen Blyden.
