FamilyAid FamilyAid empowers parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children's futures.

FamilyAid Boston provides a comprehensive set of services to: prevent families from becoming homeless whenever possible; provide 24/7 emergency shelter so that no family spends a night on the street; help homeless families regain their self-sufficiency and transition into permanent housing; and provide stabilization services such as employment assistance, education enrollment, and financial literacy to help ensure that newly-housed families remain in permanent homes. FamilyAid Boston is one of the leading homeless service organizations in Massachusetts, providing critical assistance to more than 4,000 children and parents each year.

Thank you to the Inizio team for spending the day with us at our Family Navigation Center!

They helped us complete our site beautification project. Small finishes like these help our families feel at home. 🏡

Grateful to Life Science Cares for the connection! 💙

Where do families turn when they’re facing homelessness but don’t qualify for the supports designed to help them?

Through the Annex, our privately funded shelter, we provide temporary housing, dedicated case management and critical resources to children and parents who may not qualify for state-funded shelter.

For families who have reached the six-month shelter limit or those who are just over the income threshold and unable to access state-funded supports, the Annex is a lifeline many families desperately need.

Many people believe that the best way to end family homelessness is by working with parents. While that is a critical piece of the puzzle, we also know that children need individualized supports and resources for their own growth and development, and to break the cycle as they age into adulthood. We use a two-generational, or , approach that helps both children and parents thrive 👩‍👧‍👦

A great big shoutout to our fantastic group of volunteers from Bell Partners, who recently came to our Family Navigation Center for a full day of service! They cleaned our play space and kitchen, assembled seasonal clothing packs and organized hygiene items for kiddos in our care. We're so grateful 🫶

5,164 children and parents served. 88% avoided eviction. 3,491 were prevented from being homeless altogether.

That's what our community made possible this year.

Every data point in this carousel represents a family who had somewhere to turn when they needed help most. These numbers represent the parents who showed up daily to create better lives for their kids. The FamilyAid team who never gave up on them. The volunteers who stepped in when the need was greatest. And the donors who funded our work all year.
