Consulate-General of Japan in Boston（在ボストン日本国総領事館）

On May 31, the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston and the Museum of Science, Boston co hosted “Innovation Spotlight: Japan,” the first event in the museum’s history to focus on Japanese innovation. The event featured lectures and exhibition presentations by Prof. Cynthia Dwork, a 2026 Japan Prize laureate, as well as researchers from Japanese government agencies, companies, and academic institutions.

5月31日、ボストン科学博物館と当館が同博物館史上初となる日本のイノベーションをテーマとしたイベント「Innovation Spotlight: Japan」を共催。2026年Japan Prize受賞者ドワーク博士及び我が国の政府関係機関・企業・学術機関の研究者等による講演・展示発表が行われました。

On May 30, DCG Maeda attended and delivered remarks at the Japanese learning community party held at Showa Boston Institute.
The Consulate General also set up an exhibition booth to promote the JET Program.

5月30日、前田首席領事は、昭和ボストンにおける日本語学習者イベントに出席し、挨拶しました。
当館はJETプログラムの紹介ブースも出展しました。

On June 1, Consul General Takahashi hosted a reception in honor of Professor Cynthia Dwork of Harvard University, recipient of the 2026 Japan Prize, and to celebrate her commemorative lecture delivered as part of the Museum of Science Boston’s “Innovation Spotlight: Japan.” The event brought together more than 80 researchers and government officials, fostering active and lively exchanges.

6月1日、髙橋総領事は、2026年Japan Prizeを受賞したハーバード大学のシンシア・ドワーク教授、およびボストン科学博物館主催「Innovation Spotlight: Japan」における同教授の記念講演を祝したレセプションを開催しました。 当日は80名以上の研究者や政府関係者が参加し、活発な交流が行われました。

Consul General Takahashi attends at the Boston University/Boston College Naval ROTC Commissioning Ceremony (May 18, 2026)

髙橋総領事の海軍予備役将校訓練課程卒業生任官式への出席（２０２６年５月１８日）

On May 18, Consul General Takahashi attended the commissioning ceremony for graduates of the Boston University and Boston College Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NAVY ROTC), held at the USS Constitution, an active U.S. Navy ship launched in 1797.

On this occasion, Consul General Takahashi greeted President Dr. Melissa L. Gilliam, Professor John D. Woodward, Jr., the Director of the Division of Military Education, and the U.S. Navy officers, reaffirming the unwavering Japan-U.S. alliance and confirming close cooperation here in New England as well.

　５月１８日、髙橋総領事は、１７９７年に就役した米海軍の現役艦である「ＵＳＳコンスティテューション」号で開催されたボストン大学及びボストン・カレッジの海軍予備役将校訓練課程卒業生の任官式に出席しました。
　この機会に、高橋総領事は、メリッサ・L・ギリアム学長、ジョン・ウッドワード軍事教育部門ディレクター／教授、米海軍士官と挨拶し、揺るぎない日米同盟を確認するとともに、当地ニューイングランドにおいても緊密に連携していくことを確認しました。

On May 3, Consul General Takahashi gave remarks at the 37th International Haiku Contest held by Kaji A*o Studio - Institute for the Arts in Boston.
Consul General also presented a certificate to the first-place winner of Haiku contest, Mr. Ravi Kiran, and prizes for the winners of the Haiku contest (Mr. Ravi Kiran, Mr. Farah Ali, Mr. Kristen Lindquist) and the first-place winner of Senryu contest, Mr. Kenneth Elba Carrier.

5月3日、ボストンのカジ・アソウ・スタジオにて、「第37回国際俳句コンテスト」の表彰式が行われ、髙橋総領事が挨拶しました。
髙橋総領事から、俳句部門優勝者のラヴィ・キランさんに賞状が授与されました。また俳句部門入賞者（ラヴィ・キランさん（1位）、ファラ・アリさん（2位）、クリスティン・リンドキストさん（3位））と、川柳部門優勝者のケネス・エルバ・キャリアさんに副賞が贈呈されました。

外務省では、現在、世界6カ国8つの地域で活躍されている日本人研究者（Principal Investigator：PI）の方々を「PIマップ」として掲載しています。PIマップを通じて世界で活躍されてている日本人研究者と直接、連絡をとることが可能です。海外で挑戦したい研究者や学生の皆様、また国際共同研究や国際共同事業を模索する産学官の皆様は是非一度、ご覧ください。世界各地の大学・研究機関にPIとして所属している方々のうち、本取組にご協力意向をお持ちの皆様が登録されています。今後対象地域を拡大予定です。
