🎓 A MILESTONE WORTH CELEBRATING! 👏🏾

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for the Boston Housing Authority Police Department as we proudly celebrated Officer Darian Belizaire’s graduation from the Boston Police Academy!

A former collegiate football standout, Officer Belizaire brings a strong foundation of teamwork, discipline, passion, and dedication to BHA PD. We are excited to welcome him to our patrol ranks, bringing our total number of patrol officers to 10! 💙💛

This achievement represents tremendous progress. Just five years ago, BHA PD had zero patrol officers. Today, we celebrate not only the growth of our department but also our continued commitment to strengthening public safety and serving the BHA community.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

Today, the Boston Housing Authority Police Department honors Indigenous peoples, their rich cultures, histories, traditions, resilience, and enduring contributions to our communities and our nation.

We recognize the importance of acknowledging Indigenous heritage, respecting the sovereignty and traditions of Indigenous communities, and continuing to learn from the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples.

May today serve as a reminder of the importance of respect, understanding, inclusion, and community.

Nearly 100 Grams of drugs Taken off the streets of Boston :

Boston Housing police officers, along with Boston Police Officers, conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic infractions resulting in a Drug Trafficking arrest. During the stop, officers recovered approximately 64 grams of crack co***ne from a female passenger. A brief struggle ensued during the stop and officers subsequently recovered an additional 22 grams of crack co***ne from the driver, a violent gang member and convicted felon currently on probation for fi***rm offenses. A follow up investigation and interview with the driver revealed he made the passenger conceal the drugs for him prior to the stop. With drug distribution being a constant issue in Boston, we are dedicated to continuing our partnerships and addressing the issue.

Another Illegally Possessed Fi***rm Off Boston Streets:

Boston Housing PD officers, in conjunction with the Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police, proactively initiated a fi***rm investigation in Roxbury earlier this week. A fi***rm was removed from the waist of a Mt. Pleasant gang recruit without incident. We are grateful for our working relationships with our partner agencies.

Congratulations to Officer Carlos Barbosa on being awarded a Commendation by Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox in front of a packed house at Florian Hall.

Officer Barbosa, along with a contingent of Boston Police officers, demonstrated extraordinary courage when they entered a home engulfed in flames to rescue its occupants. Despite having no protective gear or breathing apparatus, these officers made the courageous decision to act, putting the safety of others before their own.

We proudly commend Officer Barbosa and his fellow recipients for their bravery, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of life. Their actions exemplify the very best of law enforcement and the courage it takes to answer the call when others are in danger.
