Join the Disabled Stories Collective (DISCO) and Perkins School for the Blind Library for Virtually Able: Stories of Disabled Tech Life, a virtual storytelling event highlighting the real-life impact of assistive technology in the disability community.

DISCO seeks to amplify the voices of people with disabilities and their allies through the sharing of authentic stories and artistic expression. This event will feature a strong representation of blind and visually impaired storytellers, alongside presenters with other disabilities, sharing personal experiences with technologies such as screen readers, hearing aids, mobility devices, and other tools that support independence, connection, and accessibility in everyday life.

You are warmly invited to join DISCO on Zoom to connect with old and new friends in the disability community, share some laughs, and enjoy an evening of heartfelt and inspiring stories together.

Today we celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), a reminder that accessibility isn’t optional or something to be saved for later. It’s the foundation of how we design, build, and share digital content and tools. When accessibility is overlooked, people are excluded. Everyone deserves equitable access to information, services, and opportunities. This day calls us all to embrace accessibility as a shared responsibility. By prioritizing inclusive design from the start, we remove barriers, open doors, and create digital spaces where everyone belongs.
