**We have received a notification that the issue with 911 has been resolved. We have tested our system, and it appears to be functioning normally.**

The Commission will meet tomorrow, on Friday, January 26th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at The Warren Center in Ashland. At this meeting, the Commission will vote to approve its report documenting key regional conditions and major findings. More details about the meeting can be found on the Department of Housing and Economic Development website.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Commission’s 9th meeting which focused on Educational Attainment & Skills Base in the 495/MetroWest region. For this topic we traveled to the southern portion of our coverage area, visiting Dean College in Franklin.

Guest presenters included Juan Vega, Assistant Secretary for Communities & Programs and Commission Co-Chair; Paul Resten, Dean of the School of Continuing Studies at Dean College; Javier Cevallos, President of Framingham State University’s World of Work Program; Dr. Courtney Jackson, Chief Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness Officer of MassBay Community College; and Dr. Michael Goodman, Executive Director of the UMass Dartmouth Public Policy Center. Special thanks to Representative Jeffrey Roy of Franklin for hosting this meeting!

Thanks to everyone who attended our 8th meeting, held at the Shrewsbury Town Hall on April 3rd focused on energy issues in 495/MetroWest. We were welcomed by Shrewsbury native Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and received presentations by Matthew Beaton, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, as well as Brian Earley, General Manager of Foxborough’s Patriot Place. Shout out to Shrewsbury State Representative Hannah Kane, who hosted this meeting and provided delicious pastries & coffee.

Thanks to all who attended our 7th meeting, held at the Boxborough Public Library on March 3rd. This meeting focused on the industrial and employment base in the 495/MetroWest region. We heard from Nam Pham, Assistant Secretary for Business Development at the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development; TJ Costello, America’s Smart Cities & IoT Director at Cisco Systems, Inc.; and Professor Michael Goodman from UMass Dartmouth Public Policy Center, the Commission’s research partner.
