DCR asked park friends to help spread the word that they are starting to recruit for summer lifeguards and seasonal staff:
DCR Kicks Off Recruitment Efforts for Lifeguards and Seasonal Staff for Summer 2026 Hourly rates range up to $27; sign-on and retention bonuses of up to $1,000 are also available
We re-posted the DCR First Day Hikes, and should mention that you can check the DCR website for updates on hikes in your area -- some cancellations due to weather and trail conditions.

An opportunity to focus on community safety issues in the park (South End section of the Southwest Corridor Park). Park neighbors are encouraged to join, with BPD, for a walk in the park, Oct. 6th, at 6pm, starting at Titus Sparrow Park and then into the Southwest Corridor.
