While the LGBTQIA+ movement has made progress, many folks in our community have been left behind. Trans folks, and especially trans folks of color, experience the impact of the disparity in the way we have built this movement for liberation. We commit to the fight for justice and freedom again and again and we see liberation in our truth.

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. We see and we celebrate all the members of the trans community, today and everyday.

This day comes in the wake of a heartbreaking and callous decision by Arkansas lawmakers to ban trans kids from receiving healthcare. We are going to continue to fight for the rights of trans kids in Arkansas and across the country, because trans rights are human rights, and we want to honor that especially today.

Representation in higher levels of government is essential but not where the work ends. We look forward to growing a representative body in the coming years and continuing to support a democracy that centers equity.
