TGTHR to end youth homelessness Ending youth homelessness
We provide safe housing and supportive services to 12- to 24-year-olds exiting homelessness or the foster care system.

TGTHR (pronounced together) is a non-profit working to end youth homelessness. For youth between the ages of 12-24 we provide safe housing and support for long-term stability.

In 1966, a Bible study group at First United Methodist Church of Boulder looked at how young people in crisis were being handled by the courts and decided there had to be another way. Judge Horace Holmes & Probation Officer John Haragadine agreed. Their answer became our founding philosophy: attention, not detention.

60 years later, here’s how that idea grew, stalled, and kept coming back, because this community kept showing up for it.

Almost every decade had a moment when the doors could have closed for good. Each time, people decided young people were worth it. That’s still the work: safe housing and support for young people ages 12 to 24, built with a community that keeps showing up.

Daria is a soon-to-be young mother who just moved into Nest56. She is 8 months pregnant and cannot believe she has a place to sleep every night when she was living outside a few months ago. She is nervous but excited to meet her son and spend their first Christmas together in their new apartment.

This winter, more than 100 young people will spend the holidays with TGTHR, including a dozen children under 10 growing up in our housing communities. Our Outreach & Drop-In teams will also be supporting an additional 60 young people who are actively experiencing homelessness.

Here’s what we’re planning, with your help:
🦃 A full Thanksgiving meal at every TGTHR location
🎧 Gifts, gift cards, stockings, cookies, and candy for those in all our programs
🧤 Warm winter gear for young people sleeping outside, distributed by our Street Outreach team
🌮 Hot meals all season long for those who come to our Drop-In Resource Center

A shared meal and a gift goes a long way this time of year, when so many of the young people in our programs might not have someone else to celebrate with. That is one of the millions of reasons we are so grateful to be here for the young people in our programs.

Thank you for helping us make the holidays meaningful for young people working toward stability!

Our name is TGTHR because ending youth homelessness takes all of us, coming together to tackle the systemic issues and challenges in our society today. And that includes the businesses in our community as well.

Corporate partners don’t just write checks. They build the housing young people move into. They finance the projects that make it affordable. They hire young people, mentor them, and open doors for many. When businesses invest in young people, they invest in the future workforce, neighbors, and leaders of Colorado.

Earlier this month, our sponsors made The Big 60 Bash possible, and helped us raise $60,000 for young people working to exit homelessness! And these partners make our work possible all year long by supporting TGTHR youth in various ways. We are incredibly grateful for each of them.

You’re proof that the business community has a critical role in making sure every young person has a safe place to call home.

Here’s to the next 60 years, TGTHR.

Last week, our new Board Chair Tyrone rolled up his sleeves and brought his team from Vectra Bank Colorado Vectra to volunteer at TGTHR's housing community, Nest56. They cleaned, sorted, and organized our space, and the difference is incredible.

A clean, welcoming space matters more than you might think. It’s where young people come to connect, feel safe, and take their next steps toward stability.

Thank you, Tyrone and Vectra, for showing up for our community at TGTHR!

We're so grateful to have hosted Colorado State Division of Housing's Leadership team and share the great work we do as well as some of the challenges and ways we can continue partnering to ensure more young people have access to safe and affordable housing!

Special thank you to Boulder County Government for hosting the day and including TGTHR. These collaborative partnerships are crucial when addressing systemic issues like homelessness.

Seeking meal donations! Young people actively experiencing homelessness rely on a hot meal Mon-Fri at The Source, and you can help provide them!
It's one of the most direct ways to support young people who are sleeping outside, in shelters (when they get a bed), in cars, couch surfing, or pooling money for motel rooms.

Here's how it works:
1. View the signup sheet and pick a date that fits your schedule
2. Prepare (or order) a meal for ~20 young people
3. Deliver to The Source on your day

A sandwich, a pot of chili, a tray of burritos all go a very long way in helping young people struggling.

🕺🏼We’re still celebrating the success of last week’s Big 60 Bash! It was such an energetic and impactful night, raising $60,000 for TGTHR programs that help young people working to exit homelessness. And it meant so much standing in a room full of people who love TGTHR and who have been involved through so many of the wins and challenges of the organization throughout the decades.

Sixty years ago, a local judge and a handful of community members decided young people deserved better, and they opened their own homes to make it happen. So much has changed since then. What hasn’t changed is that this work is carried by people who care deeply.

It was an honor to recognize First United Methodist Church with the Judge Horace and June Holmes Community Award, and to celebrate our youth RISE award winners, Romeo, who recently earned his CDL and is working for coca cola, and Leslye, who joined us at the event with her son and shared her progress with us. Watching the community cheer for them was a true highlight of the night.

There was so much joy in the room, we had a blast on the dance floor, seeing all the far-out 60s outfits (thank you, DJ Drake, for leading the best-dressed vote), posing in the photo booth, and the magician who wowed us!

To everyone who has been part of this community, whether for 60 years or one unforgettable night, thank you. We’re 60 years strong, and still showing up! Cheers to another 60!

Last week, our community came together for The Big 60 Bash to celebrate 60 years of TGTHR and the young people we’ve had the privilege of serving along the way.

It was so fun seeing so many folks from our past and present in the same room celebrating in far out 60s fashion! From the awards program to the dance-off & magician, it truly was such a festive night.

A few highlights:
- Presenting the Judge Horace and June Holmes Community Award to First United Methodist Church of Boulder
- Leslye and her son joining us to receive the 2026 RISE Award
- Celebrating Romeo for his 2026 RISE Award
- Everyone’s groovy moves on the floor
- All the fabulous 60s attire, with DJ Drake leading the voting of best-dressed
- The far-out photo booth & entertaining magician
