SWPC has issued a G3 (Strong) or greater geomagnetic storm warning valid until 10/2359 UTC. The solar wind environment became strongly enhanced following the arrival of a CME from 08 Oct at around 10/1434 UTC. The geomagnetic field reached G3 levels beginning at 10/1758 UTC and is expected to persist at or near G3 levels through 10/2359 UTC.

A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) arrived at Earth on 10 October. The CME signature was observed in the solar wind beginning at 10/1434 UTC. A sudden impulse of 56 nT was then recorded at the Niemegk, Germany magnetometer station at 10/1516 UTC. A G2 (Moderate) storm Warning is valid until 10/2359 UTC, and a G2 Watch remains in effects for 11 Oct.

SWPC has issued a G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm Watch for 11 Oct 2026. The Watch covers the expected arrival of two coronal mass ejections (CMEs) that left the Sun on 07 and 08 Oct. The 08 Oct CME is the faster of the two, and forecasters expect it to merge with the slower 07 Oct CME on the way to Earth.

G1 (Minor) to G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storms are likely on 09 Oct with the arrival of a CME that was associated with a M1.4 flare from Active Region 4549 on 06 Oct. A high chance for additional M-class flare activity from Region 4549 will persist in the coming days.
