A brighter future for the next generation!

When you’re filling out your ballot, we encourage you to vote Yes on 1A for Brighter Start Boulder County. At EFAA, we know that financial stability is about more than having enough money to pay the bills. Families need access to resources and opportunities that allow them to build a stronger future, including affordable, reliable childcare.

That’s why we support Brighter Start Boulder County. Vote yes on 1A! https://www.efaa.org/blog/vote-yes-for-brighter-start-boulder-county-to-help-combat-the-childcare-crisis/

A person who makes minimum wage would have to work two full time jobs (that’s 80 hours a week) to afford a market rate one-bedroom apartment in Colorado. It’s staggering, but true.

A combination of low wages, scarcity in affordable housing, and rising costs across the board make it harder and harder for families to make ends meet. That’s where we come in.

Boulder County families are paying $20,000 to $23,000 a year to send ONE child to daycare… if they can find a spot at all. Combined with the skyrocketing price of gas, housing, groceries, and healthcare, families are being pushed to the brink. We see it firsthand every day at our office and our food bank.

But there are solutions on the table right now, including Brighter Start Boulder County. It would fund tuition help for families earning up to $150,000, add infant and toddler slots, and give childcare teachers the pay they deserve.

What an incredible evening! Thank you to everyone who joined us for EFAA’s 5th Annual Farm to Table at the beautiful Planet Bluegrass. The night brought a little unexpected magic, too. Just as guests made their way inside, the rain began to fall, creating a cozy atmosphere before a beautiful rainbow appeared.

We are thrilled to share that this sold-out event exceeded our fundraising goal! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and guests, EFAA can continue providing essential food, housing, and other resources to Boulder County families working toward financial stability.

A special thank you to our generous event sponsors, Kevin and Robin Luff, Celestial Seasonings, Corwin Toyota Boulder, Elevations Credit Union, and Bolder Leadership, for making this evening possible.

We are grateful to Planet Bluegrass for hosting us at their beautiful riverside venue and Blackbelly for providing a wonderful dinner.

We are so proud to be a part of this community and glad to have you all around our table!

You’ve heard of “adopt a street,” but have you ever heard of “adopt a row”? Our friends at MASA Seed Foundation donate local, organic produce to food banks like ours – and you can help, too! 👩‍🌾🥕

For $250, donors get their own row in MASA's expansive fields. A handmade sign with the donor's name will be placed in front of the row to honor your support. Throughout the season, you’ll be sent images of your row as it grows so you can see the impact your generosity is making!

They also have an “adopt a crate” program – another way to support MASA’s work in our community.

At EFAA, we see kindness every day — in the neighbor who drops off some of our most needed items, the volunteer who shows up week after week, the donor who gives what they can.

We all work together to help Boulder County families meet their basic needs and support them on the path toward self-sufficiency. None of that happens without small acts of kindness adding up to something bigger.

Every bit of generosity moves us closer to a community where our neighbors don't just get by, but thrive. Thank you

We all need enough food to fuel our day.

But for kids, it’s especially important. If kids don’t get the right nutrition, it affects their brain development, growth, health, emotional wellbeing, and much more. Consistent access to food when we are young shapes our life-long health.

Help kids grow up strong, healthy and happy by supporting the work EFAA does in Boulder County: efaa.org/donate
