Help shape a safer, more connected South Boulder Road! πŸš—πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸšŒ

Boulder County, in partnership with the cities of Boulder, Louisville and Lafayette, is studying ways to make South Boulder Road safer and easier to use for people walking, bicycling, taking transit and driving, or using mobility devices. The study builds on earlier planning efforts and community input.

Share your priorities in a community survey by October 31. It takes about 10 minutes, and your input will help shape the options we study next: boco.org/SBR-BRT

Information about the county's budget and the budget process is available at www.boco.org/Budget

On Oct. 1, the Boulder County Commissioners announced that the county is on track to fix its structural budget deficit and that it is the commissioners' intention that this year’s budget process marks the foreseeable end of countywide cuts.

The 2027 Recommended Budget reflects $13.2 million in reductions to recurring costs. These reductions are required to ensure the county doesn't have ongoing expenditures that exceed revenue. The reductions include the elimination of up to 36 positions countywide, with 10 to 15 layoffs and the rest from vacant positions. Cuts to operating expenses include fleet acquisitions, facilities and maintenance, and software costs. Overall, 70% of the reductions come from personnel costs and 30% come from operating costs.

The 2027 budget will be adopted in December.

The commissioners' Oct. 1 statement is available on the county's website: https://bouldercounty.gov/news/on-track-to-fix-structural-budget-deficit/
