Emerald ash borer (EAB) is showing up in more parts of North Dakota. It's been found in Burleigh and Cass counties, following its discovery in LaMoure County in 2024.

These pests are highly destructive and can come with a big impact. If you have an ash tree in your yard, keep an eye out for EAB, including serpentine lines beneath the bark and D-shaped exit holes.

🌳 And if you're planning to replace trees in your yard, try to mix it up! Don't plant more of what's already there. Choose a mix of species and prioritize native options that fit North Dakota conditions.

Farmers and ranchers are often expected to keep pushing through even when things start to pile up. Long hours, financial pressures, weather....... weather..... uncertainty, setbacks..... it can all become overwhelming. Unfortunately North Dakota has seen the largest increase in su***de rate over a 20 year period (CDC data).

Resilience can get us through difficult seasons but it doesn't mean we have to handle everything on our own. Sometimes it's recognizing when you need help and support and knowing where to turn.

Reach out to someone you trust....a friend, family member, neighbor, pastor .....anyone you feel comfortable talking to.

IF you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

Numerous crisis and counseling resources. We partner with Together Therapy and Wellness and Eyes on the Horizon.

We have several resources available: https://www.ndsu.edu/agriculture/ag-hub/ag-topics/farm-safety-health/managing-stress
