Wood County is proud to welcome a former Ohio governor to lead a discussion of Ohio's role in the development of America's first 250 years. Wood County District Public Library in Bowling Green will host An Evening with Nancy Putnam Hollister from 6:30-8 p.m. this Thursday, October 8.
Nancy Putnam Hollister served as the governor of Ohio for 11 days in January 1999, between the terms of Governors George Voinovich and Bob Taft. She previously served as a state representative, lieutenant governor, and mayor of the City of Marietta.
Nancy Putnam Hollister's family history dates to the founding of Marietta, which was the first public settlement in Ohio. In Wood County, she will speak about Ohio's early days, the history of Marietta, and Ohio Appalachia's role in the development of the Northwest Territory.
