An unsafe or unusable commercial building can stand in the way of what comes next.

Mecklenburg County’s Commercial Property Demolition Grant offers up to $50,000 in 1:1 matching funds for qualified demolition and cleanup costs.

The property must be in a commercially zoned corridor in Mecklenburg County or on a town’s dilapidated property list. Residential properties and nonprofit entities are not eligible.
This is a reimbursement grant. Approval is required before work begins.

Planning a new tourism development or expanding an existing destination in Mecklenburg County?

The Tourism Development Fund offers $500,000–$1 million award tiers, with awards based on project scoring and available funding.
Qualifying projects must be located in the County’s Tourism Zone and make at least $500,000 in capital investment during the first 12 months. The performance agreement establishes the required match, payment terms, and project conditions.

Have a site or project in mind? Contact County staff before undertaking the qualifying investment.
