Beachgrass Available: After a successful harvest, we've had a few unique changes to our Fall Beachgrass that has left a few extra bundles available. This is not the norm to have "leftover" bundles available, as we typically aim to only harvest what has been pre-ordered. But, if any shoreline landowners or landscapers out there are looking for some beachgrass to plant, give us a call! ($100/bundle, 500 plugs per bundle) NOTE: the grass should be placed in the ground within a week of harvesting! Interested landowners, please call 231-582-6193 to inquire about availability (photo for visual aid only). So many smiling faces at our American Beachgrass Nursery today! These Boyne City Ramblers came out with their teachers, Mrs. Bricker and Ms. Gravlin, 8th grade middle school staff, to once again help us with our Fall Harvest ❤️💙 We can’t thank them enough for coming out to assist our efforts with this program. The students weren’t hard to harvest pre-ordered Beachgrass bundles that will be picked up by land owners and replanted on shoreline throughout Charlevoix County and beyond.

The Charlevoix Conservation District teamed up with the Michigan Prois Ladies for some chainsaw 101 with local SAWW certified trainer, Aaron Beishlag, of Beishlag Logging in East Jordan, who covered everything from safety, chainsaw care, and hands-on tips for notching, boring, and even felling! These ladies started out with no experience with a chainsaw to feeling confident and ready to keep learning more! Many thanks to Aaron, Prois and the ladies who came out to enjoy this unique event!
