The Gallatin County DUI Task Force is a collaborative group of citizens and professionals appointed by the Gallatin County Commissioners. The vision for the Gallatin County DUI Task Force is to be the “face of DUI prevention” by providing education, funding, networking opportunities, enforcement, and public advocacy to reduce the number of impaired driving crashes and deaths in Gallatin County.

Safe Driving = Attentive Driving

With school back in session, the Belgrade Police Department has received numerous complaints about drivers failing to stop for school buses with red lights flashing and stop arms extended.

Montana law requires drivers approaching from either direction to stop approximately 30 feet from the bus and remain stopped until the red lights are no longer flashing.

Failing to stop carries serious consequences. A first offense can result in a $500 to $1,000 fine, 50 to 100 hours of community service, or both. Penalties increase significantly for subsequent offenses.

But this is more than a traffic rule. Children are getting on and off these buses and may be crossing the road. Please slow down, stay alert, and be patient. A few extra moments can help keep our kids safe.

In 2025, approximately 70,000 people in the United States died from drug overdose. Each person was loved, valued, and missed.

This , we honor them through remembrance, compassion, and evidence-based action.
