New scholarship opportunities are added to MEF's Scholarship Source throughout the year, so it's worth checking back regularly — not just in the spring.

Right now, the Herman & Wells Power of Listening Scholarship is open, with a deadline of November 30. Don't wait until the last minute!

🎓 Manatee County High School Students: Turn Service Into Scholarship! 🎓

Volunteer your way to a $500 scholarship! The Manatee Education Foundation and the School District of Manatee County, through the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Lottery, have secured 40 scholarships worth $500 each for high school students at public schools or public charter schools.

✅ Complete 20 hours of service between Sept 7 & Oct 5
✅ Write an essay according to guidelines
✅ Apply through the Student Service Challenge and submit hours through school’s volunteer service process
✅ Ask your School Counselor about more details to get involved!

High school students: turn your volunteer hours into scholarship opportunities!

The Manatee Education Foundation and the School District of Manatee County, through the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Lottery, have received 40 scholarships worth $500 each for high school students attending a public school or public charter school who complete 20 hours of service and write an essay through the Student Service Challenge.

Service hours must be completed September 7 through October 5, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout September! Students can earn hours while making a difference in our community through beach cleanups, kayak cleanups, native plantings, campground restoration projects and more. All student service volunteer hours must be documented through the regular volunteer service hour process at the student’s registered school.
