Republicans have controlled Manatee County's city council and county commission for years.

Republicans have controlled the Florida state legislature and the Florida governor's office for decades.

Republicans have controlled both chambers of Congress and the White House.

Together, they've given you unchecked development and out-of-control traffic, unchecked data centers, increased costs of nearly everything (and increased their profits at your expense!), and instead of ending the Forever Wars (which they began without any exit plan), have yet again started yet another one.

Now Republicans are asking for your vote up and down the ballot to "fix" things -- all the things that THEY broke.

Since its creation in 2003, ICE has operated with almost no accountability. Families across Florida are living in fear of a knock on the door, while private detention companies profit off their suffering.

An agency that has repeatedly shown it can’t be trusted with the power it has shouldn’t be reformed at the margins. It should be dismantled and rebuilt under real civilian oversight, with due process and a mission that reflects American values.

That’s the fight I’m taking to the U.S. Senate.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I spent yesterday traveling around Manatee County, visiting different early voting locations, and I continue to be amazed by the level of engagement from our community!

During the more than an hour I spent at G.T. Bray, there was a constant stream of voters stopping by the tent to ask questions, have conversations, and share their thoughts about the future of Manatee County.

I had the privilege of speaking with first-time voters casting their ballots in a general election, as well as longtime voters, including some we would consider "super voters," who told me they were breaking with their usual voting patterns this election.

Regardless of where you stand politically, seeing this level of participation in our local elections is something worth celebrating.

If you haven't voted yet, grab your friends and family and head to one of Manatee County's early voting locations!



Early voting runs through Sunday, November 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, including weekends!

The town of Mexico, NY announced Tuesday it would change its name to Epstein List to avoid being targeted by President Donald Trump’s reported push to rename New Mexico to New America.

“We figured if we changed our name to something he absolutely doesn’t want to talk about, we might fly under the radar,” said town supervisor Mark Henderson.
