Water 101: Get Your Lawn in Shape - Train It to Need Less
Water This Winter!
Lawn Fitness Plan: Skip a Week!
Just like hitting the gym, your lawn can benefit from a little training to become tougher and healthier. This winter, help your lawn build its “water muscles” by skipping a week between irrigation sessions. Cooler weather means your grass naturally needs less water to stay in great shape!
Lawn Workout Benefits
Stronger Roots: Giving your lawn a break from constant watering encourages deeper root growth, creating a drought-resistant turf.
No Overwatering Injuries: Too much water can lead to pest problems and lawn diseases. Let your lawn breathe!
Conserve Resources: Cutting back on watering saves precious water and lowers your utility bills—a win for you and the environment.
Signs Your Lawn’s Ready for a Hydration Boost
• Grass blades fold lengthwise.
• Grass turns a bluish-gray color.
• Footprints linger after walking across your lawn.
Your Lawn’s Winter Training Plan
• Water every other week (or every 10–14 days) during cooler months.
• Apply just 1/2" to 3/4" of water during each irrigation session.
• Let your lawn show you when it’s thirsty—train it to work for its water!
This winter, skip the overwatering and give your lawn the workout it deserves. Think of it as strength training for a healthier, more resilient lawn when spring rolls around.

BALMORAL WOODS BLVD PAVING PROJECT
Dear Residents,
The current CDD6 roadway repair and resurfacing project provides an opportunity to address the section of Balmoral Woods Boulevard between the gatehouse and Edenmore Street. This work will restore deteriorated areas and align the roadway with the previously resurfaced portions to support future maintenance needs.
Beginning immediately and continuing through next week, pavement milling, base improvements, and resurfacing will be underway. During this time, vehicular access will be limited. Access will remain available; however, temporary delays should be expected.
Guests and resident contractors visiting during this project should be asked to utilize the Legacy Boulevard gateway to minimize disruption and for safety reasons.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

WATCH THE WEATHER - WAIT TO WATER.
Florida’s weather can change quickly. That is why we encourage residents to follow a simple but effective habit in the summer months.
Watch the Weather. Wait to Water.
If your lawn has received enough water from rainfall, turn off the irrigation system and turn it back on when needed. It sounds easy, and it is. Yet this one action can make a big difference in water conservation.
Why it matters:
• During the summer months of June, July, August, and September, yards need no more than ½ to ¾ inch of water every two to three days
• Up to half of all residential water use goes toward outdoor irrigation
• Overwatering can harm grass roots, promote weeds, and wash fertilizer into nearby waterways
When you avoid watering after rainfall, you help:
• Conserve water
• Lower your utility bill
• Support healthier lawns and landscapes
• Reduce runoff into rivers, lakes, and springs
Before turning on your sprinkler:
• Delay irrigation if rainfall has met your lawn’s needs
• Check the local forecast to see if rain is on the way
• Use a rain sensor, gauge, or a soil moisture sensor
Learn more and take the first step:
Watch the Weather, Wait to Water
Together, we can protect Florida’s water resources, one lawn at a time.
