Dear Local Imagination Library Partners,

Inspired by our Founder’s generous heart and her deep belief in giving back to children and communities, The Dollywood Foundation is introducing a new annual tradition: Give Like Dolly Day, taking place each year on September 25.

The idea is simple: The Dollywood Foundation is going to honor Dolly by asking the world to give to their local Imagination Library programs.

On September 25, we will invite people everywhere to support the organizations doing meaningful work for children where they live — beginning with their local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program.

And that means you are at the heart of this day.

Dolly often called our Local Imagination Library Partners the “true heroes” of her program. Every day, you make it possible for children in our community to receive books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Give Like Dolly Day is your opportunity to take advantage of that spotlight in your own community. We encourage you to use September 25 to raise awareness, tell your local story and invite your community to support your program.

This week during our Social-Emotional skills lesson we will be learning how to ignore distractions and misbehaviors of others. We also viewed examples and discussed when we should ignore something and when we need to ask for help. Here is the video I created to go along with the lesson.

Have a great week!
