Meade County Fiscal Court Adopts Zoning Map Amendment 2026R-115

The Meade County Fiscal Court adopted Zoning Map Amendment No. 2026R-115 following its second reading on October 13, 2026. The amendment rezones approximately 3 acres at 715 Johnnie Pack Road, Brandenburg, KY 40108, from A2 Agriculture to R1 Residential.

The property is identified as PVA Map 147-00-00-008.29. The applicants are Steven and Megan Fitzgerald, and the property owners are Connie and Phillip Skaggs. The request was submitted to allow construction of a new home after separating the parcels.

The Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval without conditions on August 20, 2026, finding the request consistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan. The amendment received its first reading before Fiscal Court on September 8, 2026.

A copy of the adopted zoning map amendment is available for public inspection at the County Judge/Executive Office during normal business hours. The full amendment and associated Findings of Fact may also be obtained from the Meade County Planning and Zoning Office, located at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Suite 131, Brandenburg, KY 40108.

Meade County Road Closures for Paving: October 12–16, 2026

The Meade County Road Department advises residents that the following roads will be closed to all through traffic during paving work performed by Scotty’s Contracting & Stone:

Monday, October 12, 2026
Paradise Bottom Road

Tuesday, October 13, through Thursday, October 15, 2026
Molly Brown Road

Friday, October 16, 2026
Turner Road

Motorists should plan alternate routes during these closures and use caution near work areas.

Meade County Fiscal Court Regular Meeting Notice: October 13, 2026

The Meade County Fiscal Court will hold its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg, KY 40108.

The meeting will include a public session, committee reports, and consideration of the following business:

• Consent agenda items, including approval of the September 8 Regular Meeting and September 29 Special Meeting minutes, the monthly financial statement, claims and transfers, department reports, and personnel changes.

• Employee recognition.

• Homemaker’s Proclamation.

• Halloween hours.

• Health insurance for 2027.

• Creek View Court estimate.

• Permission to bid a new salt shed.

• Opening and awarding bids for a lift.

• Resolution 2026.10.01 concerning Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area roads.

Meade County Planning & Zoning Commission Regular Meeting Scheduled for October 15, 2026

The Meade County Planning & Zoning Commission will hold its Regular Meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg, Kentucky.

The Commission will conduct public hearings, and action may be taken on the following matters:

New Business
