The Brandon High School teacher academy explored the Mississippi Museum of History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. From “Organizing Mississippi” to the powerful story of freedom songs, these future teachers experienced meaningful ways to help tell our "Mississippi story." These students are already growing into thoughtful educators who will inspire the next generation! Shoutout to Phillip Nelson for chaperoning and our amazing tour guide for being so knowledgeable. My favorite parts were the “This Little Light of Mine gallery” and chatting with the one and only Hezekiah Watkins (America’s youngest freedom rider)

Through years of dedicated service, Mr. Chatham has helped keep our buses running safely, from routine inspections and repairs to responding to roadside emergencies. His commitment to student safety and the work he does behind the scenes make a difference every day.

🏆 A Hall of Fame Honor!

Congratulations to Rod Davis, Florence High School Athletic Director, on being named to the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2027!

A standout linebacker at Southern Miss, Rod earned the 2002 Conerly Trophy and 2003 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors before playing professionally in the NFL, Canadian Football League, and Arena Football League.

We are proud to have Rod leading Florence athletics and celebrate this well-deserved recognition of his accomplishments! 🦅

Today, members of our district leadership team had the opportunity to attend the Kids First Leadership Summit! We spent the day being inspired by a motivational speaker and engaging in a variety of sessions focused on curriculum and instruction, student support, district vision, and growth.

It was a great day of learning, collaboration, and reflection as we continue working together to grow as leaders and make a positive impact on the students and staff we serve!
