Moving From Volunteer To Career Firefighters, Vol. Fire Co. 9 Saluted The Branford Police Department is celebrating the Indian Neck/Pine Orchard Vol. Fire Co.9 for its 90 years of dedicated service to the town.

Today begins a new era at Station 9 with career full time staffing after 90 years of volunteer service.

The members of Company 9 would like to thank everyone for the support over the years.

The members of Company 9 would like to congratulate M.P. Rice Hose Co 2 on their 125 years of service to the town of Branford.

Emergency Burn Ban in Effect
All Open Burning is Strictly Prohibited in the Town of Branford until further notice

Due to extremely high fire danger in our area, ALL open burning is strictly prohibited in Branford including all State parks, forest and wildlife management areas (even if you previously applied for or have an Open Burning Permit through the Fire Marshal's Office)

This includes leaf burning, the use of fire pits and outdoor grilling - no open flames of any kind outdoors. Please exercise extreme caution, especially when disposing of smoking materials outdoors.

Open Burning Permits will not be issued until the fire danger risk is reduced to Medium or Low risk conditions. Please note that today’s forest fire danger report remains at a Very High level:
