This work in Harwich will impact traffic flow on Rt. 39 in Brewster. Please plan ahead to use the detours.

TRAFFIC ALERT
MONDAY 9/21/2026
7am-4pm
Robert Our Company will be installing a manhole in the intersection of Pleasant Bay Road and Route 39. Traffic will not be allowed to pass through the intersection.

As a result, Route 39 heading towards Brewster will be detoured down Church Street to Kendrick Road and out onto Route 28. The attached map highlights that route.

Traffic coming into Harwich from Brewster will be detoured either down Freemans Way or Tar Kiln Road.

Traffic will be able to access Pleasant Bay Road from Route 137. However, you will not be able to enter the Route 39 intersection. If you live on this portion of Pleasant Bay, you need to come and go from the Route 137 side.

Traffic accessing Pleasant Bay Road from Route 28 will be allowed to do so. However, again, there is no access beyond the Route 39 intersection.

Treat Pleasant Bay Road and Route 39 as dead end roads. The intersection will be impassable and no traffic will be allowed to pass through.
