Due to widespread power outage and extremely dangerous conditions, there will be a mandatory curfew in effect starting at 7PM this evening. As of this morning, most roadways and sidewalks are blocked by downed trees and power lines. After dark these roadway obstructions will be barely visible making conditions even more hazardous. We are working hard alongside our partners in the Fire Department and EMS to keep everyone safe. Please stay safe and stay home while emergency services work to clear the roads and all remaining safety hazards.

If you have damage, please fill this out. It’s important that we document all damage!

On September 30th and October 1st, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit showcased its skills at the annual ADOC narcotic dog detection competition, held at Children's Harbor on Lake Martin. The event brought together 40 K9 teams from law enforcement agencies across the Southeastern United States.

The competing teams faced a series of challenging tasks, including searches of vehicles, buildings, and open areas, testing their abilities in real-world scenarios. Among the standout duos was Deputy Jacob Baker and his K9 partner, Gregor. Their years of teamwork shone through, as they ultimately secured an impressive 2nd place overall in the competition.

Deputy Baker and Gregor have been partners for seven years in the K9 unit, developing a deep bond in their line of work. With 12 years of K9 experience under his belt, Deputy Baker's dedication and skill were evident as they navigated each challenge with precision and determination.

Congratulations!!!!
