The Pineview Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a huge thank you to Wind Creek Atmore and their amazing guests for a generous donation of $14,544.38. This incredible support was made possible through the Wind Creek TITO (Ticket-In, Ticket-Out) program. These funds will go directly toward maintaining equipment and ensuring our community stays safe.

Rising costs are hitting volunteer fire departments in rural Alabama, where crews are often operating with aging trucks and tight budgets.

Here is a video that shows how fast a fire grows using natural vs synthetic materials in our homes. That’s why we need to grow and change because the way the fire grows has changed. The excuse of how we have done it for 30 years is not acceptable anymore. 30 years ago you had time to go miles for hydrants. Today we don’t have any room for any delays. Keep batteries in your smoke detectors, have a plan to escape with multiple ways out, sleep with your doors closed to slow the progression of the fire, once you’re out of your house stay out.

We are aware that there is a fire on Foshee Rd between Sardine Rd and 113. The fire is contained in a Pit and fire lines have been plowed around and crews have been doing regular checks on the fire. The fire has been burning for more than a week and due to the fire load the fire is expected to burn for several more weeks. As the winds shift the smoke conditions will change. Again we are continually monitoring this fire. We ask you use extreme caution while driving through the area as smoke may be over the road if you can’t see the road turn around. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
