Set on 9 acres in Bridgeport 330 live at The Jewish Home, in either skilled nursing, assisted living or short-term rehabilitation. Over 200 members of the community volunteer adding their personal touch as activity leaders, friendly visitors and in a variety of other roles. A full range of services are provided to to meet the needs of seniors in the community, including the Friedman Home Care Agency, Grasmere on Park Adult Day program, Chaifetz Family Hospice, the Institute on Aging which offers Geriatric Assessments and Care Management;Azheimer and dementia care and family support groups;Long term care protection through Senior Choice at Home, a membership based program that delivers the full range of in-home and nursing home care. Also, in response to an unfortunate but critical need, the Center for Elder Abuse Prevention, the first in the state of Connecticut. As the needs of seniors evolve, Jewish Senior Services will continue to grow and continue to be a community resource for the entire region.

We are just one week away from the Women's Auxiliary Fall Gala, and we can’t wait to celebrate this year’s outstanding honorees - Renée and Ron Noren, recipients of the Arthur and Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award, and Eric Hendlin, recipient of the Louis Lotstein Award for Distinguished Service.

Remembering October 7

Today, three years after the devastating attacks of October 7, 2023, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the communities whose lives were shattered.

As a Jewish community, we mourn those who were murdered and honor the courage and resilience of those who continue to carry the weight of that day. We remember the hostages, the survivors, the fallen, and all those whose lives have been forever touched by October 7.

May we continue to remember, to stand together, and to hold hope for healing and peace.
