✨ This week, MIRA and our partners had the privilege of connecting with NYU MSW students in Professor Coffie’s Forensic Justice Problem Solving Courts course.

👩‍⚖️ Dr. Weise joined our MIRA social work intern and NYU student at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where they observed a Public Safety Division court hearing. Together, they explored how support and drug courts can assist justice-impacted individuals on their path to recovery and stability.

💻 We closed the week with a powerful Zoom session led by Director Ms. Jackson and Dr. Weise, who held an open forum with students. They shared personal experiences with the justice system and highlighted the critical work being done in reentry.

🌆 NYC is eager to continue this partnership and emulate the impactful work MIRA has led across boroughs—building bridges between education, advocacy, and justice reform.

We are honored to stand alongside organizations that champion justice and dignity for those who have served their country.

👏 This year, McCarter & English received the 2025 Pro Bono Partnership Award, recognizing their extraordinary contribution of thousands of hours of legal services to ensure Connecticut Veterans have their stories heard and their rights protected.

Just like MIRA, these agencies are pillars of support for individuals reentering society, many of whom face significant challenges as they work to rebuild their lives. Together, we celebrate the power of service, advocacy, and second chances.
