I stopped by Green Village Initiative’s Reservoir Community Farm in Bridgeport to see how they’re bringing locally grown food to the area. From community gardens and farmers markets to hands-on programs for students, GVI’s farm is growing community in addition to food. Thank you to the team for showing me around. I especially enjoyed seeing the bees!

Great to visit the Archive of Contemporary Music’s new home in Ridgefield and learn about its plans to bring more than 3 million recordings to Connecticut. I’m excited to see how this collection will become a resource for our community and add to Ridgefield’s vibrant arts scene.

I enjoyed visiting Achievement First Bridgeport and meeting with school leaders and teachers to learn more about their work with young people. Every student deserves access to a strong education and the resources they need to grow academically.

Over the past several days, Ukraine has once again endured massive strikes conducted by Russia against its population centers and energy grid, strikes that are carried out with the clear aim of terrorizing and immiserating the Ukrainian population. While I have no doubt that the Ukrainian people will continue to stand strong against Putin, I am deeply disturbed by the direction of U.S. policy and the President's recent statements. In just the past days, Donald Trump announced a likely illegal deal to buy an inconsequential amount of diesel from Russia, as well as an ‘energy ceasefire’ that he appears to have imagined. Those decisions are bad enough, but if they were to be accompanied by any pullback in the assistance the U.S. provides to our Ukrainian partners, it would be a cowardly betrayal that makes our nation and the world less safe.

As of this afternoon, the Committee has received no notification of any change in posture with respect to intelligence support to Ukraine, but we are seeking confirmation. To the Ukrainian people, it remains the case that the vast majority of Congress and the American people stand with Ukraine in their fight to defend their country, and we will continue to do so.

It was my pleasure to meet with Kosovar Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci at the Warsaw Security Forum. We discussed strengthening the U.S.-Kosovo defense and security partnership. Kosovo has been a critical ally in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Albanian Issues Caucus, I’m proud to represent Connecticut’s vibrant Albanian-American community and will continue working to strengthen the ties between our two countries.
