Election misinformation is circulating on social media, so please be aware!

A claim suggesting that any writing on a ballot will cause it to be rejected is misleading. Under Illinois law, election judges initial ballots as part of the official ballot-issuing process.

These initials serve an administrative purpose. They do not indicate a voter's political affiliation or how that person intends to vote.

Election judges do not mark ballots with a “D” or “R” to predict a voter's choices.Voters mark their own ballots privately.

The Palos Dems were at the doors today with Elyse Hoffenberg! It was the perfect day to be outside talking with neighbors about the importance of electing a Cook County Commissioner who cares about our concerns. As Cook County Commissioner, Elyse will work with us to reduce the noise and semi traffic on Wolf Road near residential areas. Please join us in voting for Elyse Hoffenberg for Cook County Commissioner Dist. 17 on Election Day Nov. 3 or during Early Voting at the Palos Heights Recreation Center beginning Oct. 19!

We are looking for volunteers to help us pass out literature during early voting (Oct. 19 - Nov. 2) at the Palos Heights Recreation Center 9AM-5PM and on Election Day Nov. 3 at all Palos Township polling locations from 6AM - 7PM. If you have any availability, please email us at [email protected] to let us know. We appreciate everything you do to help our Democratic candidates. Candidates are welcome to sign up for a shift in Palos! We will be meeting on Sunday, Nov. 1 from 10AM - 2PM to hand out Election Day materials. And, we will have pizza!🍕 🍕 🍕

We are pleased to announce guest speaker John Donahue will join our Member Appreciation Breakfast on Oct. 3 to talk about the Moraine Valley Community College referendum that will be on our ballot this fall.

This referendum would fund new union construction to support growth in several career programs: the fire academy, welding, paramedic training, automotive technology, and others. Expanding these programs means putting more people into the south suburban workforce at a time when employers in our region cannot find enough of them.
