There's a new flavor in town! Bridgewater Township is excited to welcome Barrio Burrito Bar, which officially celebrated its grand opening at the Bridgewater Towne Center on Route 202!

This isn't just another restaurant opening — Bridgewater is home to Barrio Burrito Bar's very first New Jersey location!

Serving up fresh, made-to-order Tex-Mex favorites, Barrio offers customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, and more, with fresh ingredients prepared daily.

The Barrio team celebrated the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony surrounded by family, friends, and staff, marking an exciting new chapter for the business and another great addition to Bridgewater's growing restaurant community.

We're always happy to see businesses choose Bridgewater as a place to invest, grow, and serve our residents.

Healthy minds. Stronger kids. A better future.

Mayor Matthew Moench joined Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. and a group of local leaders, educators, law enforcement officers, mental health professionals, and community advocates for an important roundtable discussion in Bridgewater focused on a growing concern: the mental health and well-being of our children.

The conversation addressed some of the serious challenges facing young people today, including social media pressures, cyberbullying, and the difficulties students face as they navigate their middle school years.

Congressman Kean also discussed his proposed Healthy Minds for a Better Future Act, legislation that would establish a federal Middle School Mental Health Task Force to identify ways to better support students, families, and schools.

For Mayor Moench, the conversation came back to a simple but important priority: making sure our children have the support, guidance, and resources they need to grow into healthy, confident adults.

The challenges facing today's students cannot be solved by schools or parents alone. Meaningful progress requires families, educators, community leaders, and public safety professionals working together, listening to one another, and keeping the needs of children at the center of the conversation.

Bridgewater Township thanks Congressman Kean for bringing this important discussion to our community, and all of the participants who shared their experiences, perspectives, and commitment to helping the next generation thrive.

Our children deserve every opportunity for a healthy and hopeful future.

Please help us wish Lynne Hurley, our Assistant Superintendent of Recreation, a happy birthday.

Walk through the doors of our Recreation office and the first bright smile you see belongs to Lynne.

She is not just the light of the office, she’s in many ways the light of the building.

She is professional, compassionate, clear, and insightful. We are so lucky to have her on Team Bridgewater!

Happy birthday Lynne!

This week is Fire Prevention Week, this year the NFPA is challenging us to understand lithium-ion batteries and the ways in which we can take "charge" and prevent fires in our homes.

Lithium-ion batteries power everything from phones and laptops to e-bikes and tools — but damaged batteries, improper chargers, and unsafe charging habits can create a serious fire risk.

A few simple reminders:
- Use the charger designed for your device.
- Stop using batteries that are swollen, damaged, or overheating.
- Don’t charge devices on beds, couches, or other soft surfaces.
- Keep charging devices away from exits and anything that can burn.

A little battery safety can go a long way toward protecting your home and family.
