It is never too early to start thinking about year-end giving. 🏡

If you are 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) lets you give directly from your IRA to a meaningful cause.

When you give to Central Valley Habitat, your gift stays local. Donations go into our Affordability Fund, which covers materials and expenses on projects right here in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

QCDs must be sent directly from your IRA custodian to Central Valley Habitat for Humanity by December 31. Talk with your financial advisor to get started, or give our office a call at 540-828-6288 with any questions.

🏠💙 A safe home and a place to play are essential ingredients for a happy childhood.

We’re excited to partner with the Explore More Children's Museum in Harrisonburg on the CVHFH Construction Zone exhibit! This hands-on space invites children to build, create, and work together while connecting their play to Central Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission of helping local families access safe, stable, affordable housing.

Building a stronger community starts with learning how to work together and having some fun along the way! Thank you to Explore More, the local donors who made this exhibit possible, and WHSV for sharing the story.

The Harrisonburg ReStore supports the mission of Central Valley Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds from the sale of items donated to the ReStore go directly to Central Valley Habitat to provide affordable housing and critical home repairs right here in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

We accept gently used furniture in good condition. Working appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves. Building materials such as kitchen and bathroom cabinets, doors, windows. Tools - working power and handheld. Housewares such as collectibles, glassware, artwork, lamps.

Donations may be dropped off at the back of our store located at 2261 South Main Street, in Duke's Plaza. Dropoff hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Can't drop off large items? We offer donation pickup of large items within Rockingham County (and Northern Augusta). Please text photos of your items, along with your name and address to 540-290-1625 to schedule a donation pickup.

It is amazing to look back and see how much can change. 🏡

Suter Street was our first neighborhood-scale development, a 21-home subdivision in Harrisonburg that we broke ground on in January 2023 and completed this June in partnership with a private developer.

It became the proof of concept for our shift from building one or two homes a year to building entire neighborhoods, and it is directly shaping the developments we take on next.

At this year's Annual Banquet we had the honor of presenting our first Millard Fuller Legacy Award to Johann Zimmermann from JZ Engineering and Gil Colman from Colman Engineering, PLC, who also became the inaugural members of our Cornerstone Society.

Between them they have given decades of board leadership, volunteer hours, and professional expertise to help working families in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County reach a home of their own.
