Good morning! Are you prepared for this weekend's Nor'easter? Our area will most likely see up to 3 inches of rain and up to 30mph winds. Run through this quick checklist to make sure you have the essentials.

- flashlights and extra batteries, in case the power goes out
- charge electronics
- put away or secure outside furniture and decorations
- non-perishable food and water
- supplies for your pets
- medications and medical supplies

Remember that it's unsafe to go outside during the storm, as the high winds may cause debris to travel and you could get injured.

Stay safe this weekend!!

In 1952, Maine recognized the Town of Pittsfield, Maine as a leader in community preparedness. Back then it was called civil defense, today we call it emergency management.

This September, during Preparedness Month, we’re celebrating that history and reminding every town (and every household) in Maine: preparedness is timeless, and it starts with each of us.
Connect with your local and county emergency managers and find out how you can get prepared or visit our website.

Flood waters are extremely dangerous. Never drive on flood roads — almost half of flood deaths happen in vehicles. If you’re driving, stay off bridges over fast-moving waters, do not drive around barricades & stay inside your car if it is trapped in rapidly moving water.
