100 Years of the Brigantine Lighthouse: We’re Throwing a Party

The Brigantine lighthouse is turning 100, and we’re throwing a party!

The City of Brigantine and the Brigantine Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Brigantine Lighthouse with a huge block party on Saturday, October 10, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Brigantine Avenue will be closed from the Circle to 31st Street and transformed into a celebration featuring live music, food trucks, vendors, local businesses, restaurants, and a b**r garden hosted by the Brigantine VFW.

There will be plenty of music throughout the evening. DJ Jonny DiJoe, a local Brigantine DJ, will be keeping the party going, followed by the Undercover Band, an 80’s cover band, performing live.

This is a great opportunity to come out, support our local businesses, enjoy some great music and food, and celebrate an important part of Brigantine’s history with family, friends, and neighbors.

Best of all, the event is free and open to the public.

Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and come celebrate 100 years of the Brigantine Lighthouse with us - We hope to see you there!

Nor’Easter Update: 5pm on 9/25

Brigantine has taken a major hit from this storm. This morning’s high tide brought the worst flooding we’ve seen since Superstorm Sandy, along with major beach erosion and significant damage to our dune system.

We are especially concerned about the North End, where erosion has left our homes and City infrastructure extremely vulnerable.

The Promenade and several of its beach access ramps have also sustained significant damage.

We are working with the Governor’s Office, Congressman Van Drew’s office, FEMA, Atlantic County, and Senator Vince Polistina to assess the damage and get the resources we need to begin the recovery.

FEMA is expected in Brigantine this week, and we are working with our federal, state, and county partners on a disaster declaration to help access emergency funding.

We will conduct a full assessment of the beaches when conditions improve and it is safe to do so.

Until then, please stay off the beaches.

We will continue to keep everyone updated as we work through this together.
