Update: Box Elder County is holding an online public auction for an 8.86-acre property identified as Parcel No. 08-065-0012.
The property was initially offered for sale during the county’s May 2026 Tax Sale. The winning bidder did not complete the purchase, and the second-highest bidder declined the opportunity to purchase the parcel. As a result, the property reverted to county ownership.
On September 16, 2026, the Box Elder County Commission approved offering the parcel for sale again. The county must comply with applicable state law and county ordinances when selling county-owned property. Reoffering the parcel through a public auction provides interested and eligible bidders an opportunity to participate in an open and transparent process.
Auction Details
Bidding opens: October 22, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Bidding closes: October 29, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Auction platform: Public Surplus — Parcel Auction
There will be no in-person auction at the courthouse. Interested bidders must register with Public Surplus and review the auction terms before participating online.

Notice of Parcel Sale
Notice is hereby given that on October 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM, the county will offer for sale at public auction, and sell to the highest bidder for cash, under the provisions of Utah Code, Section 59-2-1351.5, the following described real property located in the County.
Starting bid will be for not less than the total amount of taxes, interest, penalties, and administrative costs which were due prior to the 2026 Tax Sale. The bidding process will remain open for 7 days and close at 5:00 PM, October 29, 2026
The auction will be held on publicsurplus.com. There will be no in-person auction at the courthouse. On, or prior to the day of the sale, you must log in and register with Public Surplus. All sales are final and must be paid according to the guidelines listed on the Public Service website.
