Congrats to these two deputies!!!
Congratulations to Deputy Jakob Johnson and Deputy Brandon Fullmer of the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office, who each received a Lifesaving Medal at the Utah Sheriffs Association conference.
During a routine jail walkthrough on March 18, Deputy Fullmer noticed an inmate in his cell with a sweatshirt tightened around his neck. He immediately called for the cell to be opened, and Deputy Johnson rushed from the upper tier to help. Together, they entered the cell, relieved the pressure on the inmate’s neck and removed the sweatshirt. They called for medical assistance, and the inmate was transported to the hospital.
When he returned to the jail, the inmate thanked the deputies for saving his life. We are honored to recognize Deputies Johnson and Fullmer for their attentiveness, quick response and care for a person in their custody.
