There’s a lot happening at the construction site of Brighton’s new water treatment plant!

Brighton City Council recently toured the facility and got an up-close look at the progress. Crews are putting the finishing touches on the plant and preparing for testing later this year.

Starting on Monday, Oct. 12 and lasting for about two weeks, the City of Brighton will close the east side of East 136th Avenue from Sable Boulevard to Kennedy Avenue for roundabout construction, with detours posted.

Step back in time at the 13th annual Elmwood Cemetery Walk this Saturday, Oct. 10!

Explore the lives of Brighton’s historical leaders, farmers, pioneers and soldiers buried at Elmwood Cemetery as volunteer guides dressed in period attire share their ancestors’ stories and connections to Brighton.

📅 Saturday, Oct. 10 | 1–3:30 p.m.
📍 Elmwood Cemetery, 14800 Old Brighton Road
🎟️ Free and open to the public

Maps will be available for a self-guided tour. Parking is available in the open field south of the cemetery.
