📢 Informational Meeting – Fire District Tax Proposition

Next Thursday, October 29th at 6:30 PM, Bunker Hill Fire Protection District will be hosting an informational meeting at Station 2 in Shipman.

This meeting is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the upcoming fire district tax proposition, ask questions, and better understand how it will impact our community and the services we provide.

We encourage everyone to come out, ask questions, and get the information you need to make an informed decision.

We hope to see you there! 🚒

Tuesday nights training focused on a critical skill in the fire service: searching for and rescuing victims during a structure fire.

This hands-on training was designed to give our newer members and cadets the opportunity to gear up in an air pack, experience searching in zero-visibility conditions, and practice locating and removing victims to safety. These exercises help build confidence, develop essential skills, and prepare our members for the challenges they may face on an actual emergency scene.

Our new EMRs also had the opportunity to discuss patient assessment, medical treatment, and making important decisions about patient care and transport.

We’re proud to see our newer members and cadets stepping up, asking questions, and putting in the work to become better responders!

Last night, we took advantage of the great temperatures and got outside to break some things!

Our members are constantly working to sharpen their skills, stay prepared, and find new ways to improve the services we provide to our community.

During last night’s training, several of our newer members got valuable hands-on experience with vehicle extrication. They had the opportunity to operate our cutters and spreaders — commonly known as the “Jaws of Life” — while practicing cutting doors, removing roofs, and gaining a better understanding of how we access patients trapped inside vehicles.

Training like this allows our members to build confidence and experience in a controlled environment, so when the call comes in, we’re ready to put those skills to work.
