Join Us November 4th for a Special Documentary Screening: Walk With Frank
The Brightwaters Historical Society is honored to welcome Vietnam War veteran and Bay Shore High School graduate Frank Romeo for a special screening of his acclaimed documentary, Walk With Frank.
Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30 PM
Bay Shore–Brightwaters Public Library
After graduating from Bay Shore High School in 1967, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 199th Infantry Brigade in Vietnam. Seriously wounded during an ambush in Cambodia, he spent more than a year recovering in military hospitals.
Upon returning home to Long Island, Frank struggled with the lasting effects of war and what would later be diagnosed as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He was among the first veterans to be officially diagnosed with PTSD.
As seen on Prime Video, Google, and PBS, Walk With Frank shares his powerful journey of resilience, recovery, and self-discovery while exploring the challenges veterans face long after returning home.
Following the screening, Frank will join us for a Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to hear directly from him. The evening will also feature artwork created by veterans who have used art as an outlet for healing and processing trauma.
We invite our members, neighbors, and friends to join us for this meaningful evening as we recognize the experiences of our veterans and the importance of mental health awareness and support.
All residents and friends are welcome. We hope to see you there!
